Dr. Benjamin Chin-Yee is a clinician-researcher, philosopher, and Assistant Professor at Western University, Canada. He is a certified specialist in Internal Medicine and Hematology and a Fellow of the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Canada. He completed his PhD at the University of Cambridge as a Gates Scholar, following his MA and MD at the University of Toronto and BSc at McGill University.
Dr. Chin-Yee serves as Division Head of Laboratory Hematology at London Health Sciences Centre and is Associate Faculty at the Rotman Institute of Philosophy. He is Deputy Editor-in-Chief and Associate Editor of Philosophy of Medicine and Academic Editor of PLOS Digital Health.
His research bridges clinical hematology-oncology and philosophy, focusing on how technologies such as genomics and AI are reshaping diagnostic reasoning, communication, and patient-centered care.
